I was at Carol Stream when a house fire call came in, and I responded with the companies. The police reported visible smoke, and Battalion 28 confirmed there was light smoke at 409 Thunderbird Trail. That location is within a mile of Station 28.
The crews handled a small fire using a pump can. The call came shortly after the shift change, which explains why some firefighters were not in full gear and had to assist the on-duty teams.
