Glenview house fire 4-5-13

The Glenview Fire Department received a call from a resident reporting a fire at 1531 Maple Street. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the attic and upgraded the alarm to a Code 4, indicating a working fire. The scene was quickly secured with four engine companies, two ambulances, a ladder truck, and three chief officers on duty. Additional support came from Northfield Fire Department with an engine, Niles Fire Department with a truck, Morton Grove with a squad, and the Northbrook battalion chief. The ladder truck was deployed to ventilate the roof, while Engine 8 operated two lines to control the fire. Within just 15 minutes of the alarm being upgraded, the flames were fully extinguished, and the damage to the home was relatively minimal.
