The Glenview Fire Department received a call from a resident reporting that a house at 1531 Maple Street was on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the attic and upgraded the alarm to a Code 4, indicating a working fire. The scene was quickly secured with four engine companies, two ambulances, a ladder truck, and three chief officers on duty. Additional support came from Northfield, Niles, and Morton Grove, including an engine, a truck, and a squad, along with the Northbrook battalion chief.
The ladder truck was deployed to ventilate the roof, while two attack lines were operated from Engine 8. Firefighters worked efficiently and brought the blaze under control within 15 minutes of the alarm upgrade. Fortunately, the damage to the home was limited, and no injuries were reported. These photos, captured by Larry Shapiro, provide a glimpse into the incident.
