The Stone Park Fire Department responded to a basement fire at 1538 N. 40th Avenue this morning on December 1st, 2016. The incident was classified as a working fire, involving a two-story, vacant single-family home. Firefighters deployed two attack lines to contain the blaze, which was quickly brought under control.
Mutual aid units from nearby departments arrived on scene, including a Leyden truck, Bensenville squad and battalion chief, a Berkeley engine, Northlake truck, and an ambulance from Melrose Park. Additionally, change of quarters units were dispatched, such as an ambulance from River Forest and an engine from Norwood Park. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by local authorities.
