Pump deep pumping technology made the latest breakthrough in Shuguang Oilfield

In a significant technical advancement, the engineering team at Liaohe Oilfield Company's Shuguang Refinery Technology Research Institute has successfully made major improvements to the small pump, often referred to as the "old heart" of the oilfield. This breakthrough has significantly enhanced the deep pumping capabilities of the pumps, effectively increasing their ability to extract liquid from wells. As of June 20, the implementation of this improved technology in 34 wells has resulted in a total of 3,658 tons of crude oil produced. To further boost the efficiency of deep well production, the research team at Shuguang Refinery Technology Research Institute began working on technical upgrades for deep-pumping equipment with a 32 mm diameter pump in 2006. The main focus of these improvements was twofold. First, they redesigned the pump structure by increasing the diameter from 32 mm to 38 mm, creating a long-stroke pump that significantly improves the pump’s capacity and overall efficiency. Second, they addressed the issue of severe wear on the sucker rods. By implementing a tube rotator program, they were able to reduce the severity of partial wear in some of the more problematic oil wells. These changes were tested and confirmed through extensive field trials, proving to be highly effective in extending the lifespan and performance of the pumping systems. The ongoing efforts of the research team have not only improved the operational efficiency of the oilfield but also set a new standard for deep well pumping technology in the region. Their continuous innovation highlights the importance of adapting and refining existing technologies to meet the growing demands of modern oil production.
