2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 9-8-24

A structure fire was reported around 0715 hours, followed by a 2-11 incident on the morning of Sunday, September 8th, in Chicago’s 19th Battalion. Engine Company 54 deployed their deck gun to tackle the heavy fire on the second floor. As companies arrived and began their operations, the fire had already spread to the third floor and was blowing out the front of the building. Firefighters used a RAM unit and several hand lines from the exterior to quickly bring the flames under control. A tower ladder and a snorkel were also set up, though they didn’t appear to be used during the operation.
