As a large-scale consumer goods vehicle, its quality problems have plagued consumers for a long time, even if the international well-known car brands also have problems. February 8 Ferrari recalled some imported Maserati cars, February 27 Porsche recalled some imported Porsche Cayenne series cars, February 27 Nissan recalled some imported Infiniti QX56 cars, and on March 12 General Motors recalled Andhra and Captiva cars. .

Major safety hazards have been hidden for eight years. The public information reveals that the recall involves the Chinese market in some imported and domestic BMW cars produced from 2003 to 2010, and the time spans 8 years. Some consumers questioned why such a major security risk could have been lurking for 8 years.

A spokesperson for BMW said that this was the largest recall of the company’s “most recent history”.

BMW said that the recall was due to problems with the installation of the plastic sleeve of the positive wire of the battery in the luggage compartment. In rare cases, it may cause the connection to loosen and cause the vehicle to fail to start, or cause the contact resistance to increase and cause overheating. Local ablation, in extreme cases, may cause the vehicle to catch fire and present a safety hazard.
