Room Fire in Long Grove 4-3-12

The Long Grove Fire Protection District responded to a call about smoke in a building located at 2328 Nichols Road this morning. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., and first-arriving units reported light smoke upon arrival. Upon entering the structure, firefighters discovered a fire in the rear storage room of the three-story building. Despite the fire spreading quickly, crews were able to extinguish it within 10 minutes, though the entire building was filled with smoke during the operation. Mutual aid was provided by engine companies from Palatine, Palatine Rural, and Lake Zurich. Buffalo Grove Tower 25 served as the truck company, while ambulances arrived from Wheeling and Barrington to assist if needed. Firefighters worked efficiently to contain the blaze and prevent further damage. Several photos captured the scene, showing the response in action. Buffalo Grove Tower 25 and Long Grove Squad 55 were seen positioned in front of the building. One image showed Squad 55 with a single hose line deployed, while another highlighted the location of the fire on the first floor. A tanker unit from Long Grove was connected to a hydrant to supply water to the squad, and Tower 25 was seen operating with its reserve apparatus. These images provide a visual record of the quick and coordinated response by local emergency services.
