Barrington 2nd & 4th Alarm fire 10-10-12

The Barrington Fire Department responded to a barn fire on Ridge Road in Barrington Hills this morning, just as shift change was happening. The call came in around the time first responders were preparing to hand over duties. Upon arrival, the initial units spotted smoke coming from the road and made their way down the private driveway with Quint 362, Tanker 362, and Engine 363. Engine 361 laid 1,000 feet of large diameter hose back to the street, where two 3,000-gallon portable water tanks were set up to supply water for the operation. This part of Barrington Hills doesn’t have any fire hydrants, so the department had to rely on these temporary water sources. As the fire continued to grow, a MABAS Box Alarm was called immediately, and within minutes, it was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm. Additional resources were quickly mobilized, including tankers from Long Grove, Palatine Rural, Round Lake, and Wauconda, along with squads from Cary and Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, trucks from Palatine, Elgin, and Mundelein, ambulances from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, and Deerfield, and engines from Algonquin, Fox River Grove, Lake Zurich, Carpentersville, West Dundee, and Hoffman Estates. A map of the scene showed the location of the fire at 21089 Ridge Road, highlighting the remote nature of the area. As crews worked to contain the blaze, they discovered that the barn and garages contained hay, a boat, a forklift, and various mechanical equipment. Fortunately, several horses were safely moved to an adjacent pasture. The alarm was later upgraded to a 4th Alarm specifically for tankers, bringing in additional support from Fox Lake, Prospect Heights, Bartlett, Nunda Rural, and Crystal Lake. Tim Olk arrived shortly after the initial alarm was called, and Larry Shapiro followed about 30 minutes later. Both captured images and video of the incident, which will be posted as they become available. One firefighter sustained an ankle injury and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Despite the challenging conditions, the response was swift and coordinated, showcasing the dedication of the local emergency services.

EVI Pool Heat Pump Heater

Introduction to GENT EVI Pool Heat Pump heater

EVI pool heat pump heater is an efficient and environmentally friendly swimming pool heat pump specially designed for low temperature environments. GENT EVI pool heat pump heater can operate stably in the ambient temperature range of -30~43℃.

Technical principle

The reason why this pool heater electric heat pump can operate normally at such a low ambient temperature is that this heat pump water heater for pool uses jet enthalpy increase technology, which increases the compressor exhaust volume through intermediate air supply and enhances the heating capacity of the unit at low temperatures, thereby ensuring the normal and stable operation of the unit in a low temperature environment.

Core advantages

1. Low operation and maintenance cost

This heat pump water heater for swimming pool does not require special personnel on duty, and its life span is up to 15 years. Compared with gas boilers, the annual maintenance cost can be saved by about 30%~50%.

2. All-weather adaptation

The unit has a wide range of applicable ambient temperatures and is suitable for use in severe cold regions and temperate regions with distinct four seasons.

3. Environmental protection and safety

There is no combustion emission during the operation of the heat pump for swimming pool, and no greenhouse gas will be emitted. And the unit uses environmentally friendly refrigerant, which will not damage the ozone layer. In addition, the unit adopts a water-electricity separation design to eliminate the risk of leakage. Therefore, this unit is environmentally friendly and safe.

4. High efficiency and energy saving

Compared with gas boilers, the energy-saving effect of pool heat pump is significant, which can save more than 60%. In addition, in ultra-low temperature environments, the unit can still operate normally and stably to meet the user's heating needs.

Installation points

The unit needs to be placed in a ventilated place to avoid being blocked. In addition, it is recommended to install filters and water softeners in the water system to extend the life of the unit.

Therefore, the swimming pool heat pumps in cold climates has broken through the application bottleneck of traditional unit in cold regions through advanced heat pump technology. Its energy saving, stability and low maintenance cost characteristics are particularly suitable for use in areas with long winters and high energy prices.
