VIKING launches new super liferaft system

VIKING Lifesaving Equipment, a leader in marine fire safety equipment, has introduced its latest innovative VIKING LifeCraftTM system.

As early as 2009, VIKING's R&D team was considering the possibility of producing a life raft that combines the self-propelled operation of all modern lifeboats with the flexibility, comfort and small size of today's life rafts. Can such a life raft safely evacuate passengers and crew in large quantities? After four years, these questions have been answered.

The VIKING LifeCraftTM system consists of two main components: the liferaft itself and the retractable device. The life raft is a self-propelled inflatable raft with four engines for high operability and safety. Four retractable devices can be placed on the liferaft deck or around the life raft. Each unit can help up to 200 people for a total of 800 people.

VIKING Vice President Niels Fraende pointed out: "The product completely changed the concept of lifeboats and life rafts, at least a system with high evacuation capacity. Today's ships are moving towards larger and wider sizes, which means the number of passengers is also The LifeCraftTM system is a large, flexible evacuation system that meets these needs."
