In December 2012, General Administration of Customs data showed that China’s imports of synthetic rubber (including latex) in November were 117,658 tons, a decrease of 6.13% from the previous month (125,339 tons) and a decrease of 0.12% from the same period last year (117,803 tons). From January to November, China imported 1,314,730 tons of synthetic rubber, an increase of 0.4% over the same period of last year.
In November 2012, China’s imports of synthetic rubber were US$ 382,544, and cumulative imports from January to November were US$ 4,708,276, a year-on-year decrease of 3.4%.
According to industry analysts, the reason why the import volume of synthetic rubber is reduced is related to the current status of tire sales in China, especially the declining demand for tires in the truck industry, resulting in weak growth in the tire industry.
