Honeywell Invests in Turbocharger Plant Before Year End

Honeywell is the world's leading manufacturer of turbochargers and has 13 manufacturing facilities worldwide, including one in Shanghai. In addition, Honeywell invested in a new turbocharger plant in Wuhan and is expected to start production by the end of the year.

In China, Honeywell serves more than 30 customers. In order to provide customers with optimized and quick engineering support, Honeywell established a technology research and development center in Shanghai in 2002 to support domestic and Asian customer services. The company relies on advanced design and manufacturing processes directly from the United States. It benefits from the company’s technical support in various divisions around the world and combines local customer requirements to produce and sell turbochargers. It is Dongfeng Cummins, Nanjing Iveco, and Dongfeng Chaoyang. Diesel engine, Guangxi Yuchai, Weichai Power, FAW Jiefang, Beijing Futian and other well-known domestic companies preferred host supporting partners.

Turbocharging is a green technology that not only helps reduce carbon emissions but also helps improve fuel efficiency by up to 40%. In Europe, more than 50% of new light vehicles use turbochargers. Honeywell expects that the Chinese turbocharger market will increase from 5 million to 10 million in five years from now, and the turbocharger coverage ratio will increase from the current 20% to nearly 30%.
