China's first domestically produced 600,000 kW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating unit was officially put into operation at Huaneng Yingkou Power Plant on August 31. This is also the second unit of the same type in the world.
Huaneng Yingkou Power Plant is located in the Yingkou Economic and Technological Development Zone. The unit that was put into operation is the No. 3 unit of the second phase of the plant. The main equipment is manufactured by Harbin Power Station Equipment Group. The commissioning of this unit shows that China has become one of the few countries in the world to master 600,000 kilowatts of ultra-supercritical coal-fired power generation technology.
In order to solve the problems of high energy consumption and heavy pollution of thermal power enterprises, China Huaneng Group has taken the lead in exploring the use of the world's advanced ultra-supercritical coal-fired power generation technology in China in recent years. According to Zhang Yanqi, director of Huaneng Yingkou Power Plant, the energy saving and emission reduction features of Unit 3 put into operation are outstanding: coal consumption is greatly reduced, and 292 grams of coal per kWh of electricity is designed, which is lower than the national average of 70 grams, saving standard coal every year. 10,000 tons; annual savings of 1.3 million tons of fresh water than sub-critical units of the same capacity. The plant has also invested more than 100 million yuan to build desalination equipment, which can guarantee the full use of the second phase of the project, and simultaneously implement desulfurization and zero-emissions of sewage to reduce environmental pollution.
