Solar water desalination purification device

German scientists have recently developed a new type of device that can use solar power to provide energy for desalination of seawater. The device consists of a 6 square meter solar absorber board, a small photoelectric conversion module, and seawater desalination equipment. Seawater is heated, membrane infiltrated, distilled, and the like in such a device, eventually becoming clean, sanitary drinking water.
The researchers said that the device can produce 0.12 tons of drinking water per day, and it costs about 10 euros per ton of drinking water. The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems has used the device to successfully conduct experiments on the islands of Jordan and Spain. The institute plans to market this solar water desalination and purification device this summer.
