Interpretation of the new standard "Euro III" requires cleaner engines (Figure)

On July 1, 2005, Beijing will begin implementing the Euro III emission standards. Compared with the current high clean gas and diesel oil standards in China, the new standards have higher requirements for fuel oil in terms of major environmental indicators such as sulfur, benzene, olefins and aromatic hydrocarbons. It can be seen that the most significant change in the different standards is the change in sulfur content and olefin content. Reduction of sulfur content can reduce the emission of exhaust gas CO and HC. The sulfur in gasoline will adhere to the catalyst surface under anoxic conditions, causing temporary poisoning of the catalyst. Sulfur can also adversely affect the oxygen sensor, reduce the efficiency of catalytic converters, and increase pollutant emissions. The technicians stated that the decrease of sulfur content in gasoline can reduce the poison of sulfur to the catalyst and oxygen sensor, and it is beneficial to the normal and effective operation and service life of the catalyst and oxygen sensor, and reduce the emission of CO and HC in the exhaust gas. Decreased olefin content requires that the engine cleaner olefins are mainly produced during the catalytic cracking process of the refinery petroleum process. Olefins (especially diolefins) in gasoline have poor thermal stability and oxidation resistance, and are prone to oxidation and condensation reactions at the injectors and inlet valves, forming colloidal and resinous fouling and adsorbing the surrounding particulate matter. In the long-term high temperature, these viscous grease will gradually harden and become carbon deposits, which will affect the normal operation of the engine. According to reports, the national standard for unleaded gasoline GB17930 specifies that the olefin content is less than 35% (v/v). Although the Beijing Euro II standard gasoline is reduced to 30%, it will still form deposits at the nozzle and intake valve. Things. The European III olefin content is reduced from 30% to 18%. Although the amount of sediment produced can be reduced, the negative impact of the Euro III standard on the sediment is also more sensitive. The Euro III standard automobile requires a cleaner engine and requires gasoline. There is better deterrence. Requires more excellent fuel additive performance After the fuel standard is increased, the carbon deposition problem of the engine will still exist. Considering the function of removing carbon deposits from fuel additives, the mechanism of action of fuel additives will not be greatly affected. To protect the engine and remove the engine carbon deposit, the fuel additive can still play its unique role. However, the fuel standard has been raised and the demand for additives will increase. Relevant laws and regulations in Europe, the United States, and other countries also indicate that the high-standard clean fuels, whose harmful substances are only controlled, still require fuel detergents that match the fuel.
