At the Fire Rescue International trade show held at McCormick Place, visitors were treated to a variety of images showcasing local fire departments and their equipment on display. These photos capture the latest units from various fire departments, highlighting their new and updated vehicles.
One standout was the new AEV ambulance for Bloomingdale, captured by Larry Shapiro. Another notable unit was the Leyden Township ambulance built by Wheeled Coach, also photographed by Shapiro. A second image of the same model shows the same ambulance in a different setting.
River Forest Fire Department displayed a quint, taken by Josh Boyajian, while another photo showcased a new Smeal quint for the department, captured by Larry Shapiro. Franklin Park Fire Department's engine was seen in the Marion booth, as documented by Shapiro.
Alsip Fire Department’s Car 2000 was photographed by Josh Boyajian, and Joliet Engine 8 was captured by Shapiro. Aurora Fire Department had two images: one showing Engine 9, and another noting it as the third new engine for the department. Crestwood Fire Department's Ford Expedition was also featured, taken by Shapiro.
The Chicago Fire Department had several units on display, including Turret Wagon 6-7-3 Deluge Wagon and Comm Van 2-7-8 from O’Hare, both photographed by Josh Boyajian. Gary Fire Department showed off two HME quints, with shots taken by both Shapiro and Boyajian.
