East Joliet FPD donates fire engine to the Pink Heals Joliet Area Chapter

Today was an incredible day! We’ve been keeping a big secret — a fire truck-sized one. Today, we officially dedicated our 3rd Pink Fire Truck (which is actually our 4th vehicle for the Joliet Area Chapter of Pink Heals) to our amazing friend Michelle Darguzis — someone we love deeply.

Michele has been a true supporter of our chapter from the very beginning. She’s helped us reach out to people in need, organized the fun “On the Hunt for Pink Trucks” scavenger hunt, and even spoke at our Mother’s Day Walk. She's always been there for us, and today we had the chance to say thank you. It was such a surprise — and we’re all so excited to welcome our new truck, Michelle, to the team. Our Events Director, Debbie Trimmer, put it best: “Today was the BEST DAY of 2020!”

This awesome truck and the dedication to Michelle wouldn’t have been possible without some incredible people. First, a huge thank you to East Joliet Fire Department! Four years ago, they voted to donate one of their retired trucks to Pink Heals. Since then, Fire Chief Scholtes passed away, but we will carry his name with pride — we’ve placed a beautiful plaque in his honor. Thank you, East Joliet Fire!

Next, a massive thank you to All American Recycling! Last fall, they reached out to help us get this third truck on the road. They’ve supported us through our annual Mother’s Day Walk and Save the Cans fundraisers. We couldn’t be more grateful for their continued support. Thank you, AAR!

And a special shoutout to MO-GRAPHICS in New Lenox! After hearing about our project, they generously wrapped our new truck, Michelle. She looks absolutely stunning, and we are so thankful for everything they did. Thank you, MO-GRAPHICS!
