Ammonia Nitrogen Analyzer Product Knowledge and Principle (Nessler's Reagent Method)

concept

NH3-N (Ammonia nitrogen): refers to nitrogen in the water in the form of free ammonia (NH3) and ammonium ions (NH4+).

Ammonia hazards

The nitrogen content of animal organics is generally higher than that of vegetative organics. At the same time, nitrogen-containing organic matter in human and animal waste is unstable and easily decomposed into ammonia. Source: domestic sewage, farmland drainage, nitrogenous industrial wastewater, etc. Inter-conversion of Inorganic Nitrogen: Effects of NH3  NO2-  NO3- on Human Health

Ammonia in water can be converted to nitrite under certain conditions. If it is consumed for a long time, nitrite in the water will combine with protein to form nitrosamines, which is a strong carcinogen and is extremely unfavorable to human health.

Impact on the ecological environment

The ammonia nitrogen plays a harmful role in aquatic organisms mainly free ammonia, its toxicity is several ten times larger than ammonium salt, and increases with the increase of alkalinity. Ammonia toxicity is closely related to the pH and water temperature of the pool water. In general, the higher the pH and water temperature, the stronger the toxicity. The hazard to fish is similar to nitrite.

Ammonia has acute and chronic hazards to aquatic organisms. Chronic ammonia nitrogen poisoning hazards are: reduced feeding, slow growth, tissue damage, and reduced oxygen transport between tissues. Fish are more sensitive to ammonia in water. When the ammonia nitrogen content is high, it can cause fish to die. Acute ammonia nitrogen poisoning hazards are: aquatic biological performance is exhilarating, loss of balance in the water, convulsions, severe cases and even death.

Instrument Measurement Method (Nessler's Reagent Method)

Measuring principle (HJ535-2009)

Ammonia nitrogen in the form of free ammonia or ammonium ions reacts with Nissl's reagent to produce a reddish-brown complex. The absorbance of the complex is proportional to the ammonia nitrogen content, and absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 420 nm.
2K2[HgI4] + 3KOH + NH3 = [Hg2O · NH2]I + 2H2O + 7KI

Gasoline Car

As a traditional means of transportation, gasoline vehicles have always played an important role in people's lives. It not only meets people's travel needs, but also has a positive impact on social and economic development.

The history of gasoline cars can be traced back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Since Carl Benz invented the first car in the world in 1886, the research, development and production of gasoline vehicles have gradually become the focus of attention. With the continuous development of technology, gasoline vehicles have gradually replaced steam cars and electric vehicles as the mainstream means of transportation. Gasoline vehicles are loved by consumers due to their high speed, long range, and convenient refueling.
