·ZF (ZF) and Baidu reached a strategic cooperation

On September 12, ZF Friedrichshafen AG and Chinese Internet company Baidu announced that they have formally entered into a new strategic cooperation and will cooperate in the areas of autonomous driving, car networking and mobile travel services to develop for the Chinese market. Complete autonomous driving solution.
Dr. Stefan Sommer, CEO of ZF, said: "Through this cooperation, we can benefit from Baidu's superiority in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data and cloud solutions and the industry of high-precision mapping technology. ZF and Baidu plan to introduce their respective expertise into the new technology alliance, promote the sharing of technical knowledge, and work together to promote the development of China's autonomous driving and car networking. Based on the existing market position of both parties, it is expected that a new business model suitable for the Chinese market will be hatched.
Yan Xuebin, vice president of Baidu Company, pointed out: "Automatic driving popularization faces problems such as industrial structure transformation and technological innovation integration. Cooperation is an important way to accelerate the popularization and commercialization of automatic driving."
Since 2013, Baidu has continued to increase R&D investment in the field of autonomous vehicle systems. In April of this year, Baidu released the "Project Apollo". Baidu Apollo is an open, complete and secure software platform that will help automotive and autonomous driving partners to combine their vehicles and hardware systems to quickly build their own complete autonomous driving system.
