UK's manufacturing expansion rate reached record high in the third quarter

The Bloomberg News Agency said on the 6th that the British Engineering Employers’ Federation (EEF) and BDO Certified Public Accountants jointly issued a report showing that the British manufacturing industry recorded a record high growth in the third quarter due to the surge in exports. According to the report, the number of manufacturing companies with sales growth in the third quarter was 33% higher than that of companies with falling sales, which was the highest level since the report was compiled in 1995. In the second quarter, this figure was 30%. The report predicts that the UK's industrial output value will increase by 3.7% in 2010, 0.2 percentage point higher than the forecast in June, and the growth rate in 2011 will slow to 3.2%. In addition, the report also raised the UK economic growth forecast for 2010 from 1.1% to 1.5%.
