Industrial fire in Wheeling, 1-30-17

Wheeling firefighters were called to a reported fire at Crothall Laundry (formerly known as Hospital Laundry Services) located at 45 W. Hintz Road around 10 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017. The alarm was escalated by the RED Center after they received multiple reports of heavy smoke coming from the back of the large commercial laundry facility.

Fire companies quickly responded, stretching two lines into the building and successfully extinguishing the fire. Later, the MABAS Division 1 MVU Tempest mobile ventilation unit was deployed to clear the building of smoke and ensure it was safe for any remaining personnel or residents.
