Hybrid buses account for half of the overall production and sales of passenger cars

Recently, Futian Euro V Bus Co. and Beijing Bus Group once again signed a purchase agreement for 300 hybrid buses, which became another big single after the Beijing public bus procurement of 800 Futian hybrid buses in 2009. It is understood that in January this year, Foton Motors production and sales exceeded 50,000 vehicles, an increase of 274% year-on-year, while the production and sales volume of hybrid buses accounted for about half of the total production and sales volume of Foton buses. Unlike the previous 800 orders, the key technology components for the 300 hybrid buses to be delivered this time will all be localized.

At Foton Motor's 2010 business annual meeting, Foton Automobile News spokesman Zhao Jingguang stated that in 2009, Foton Motors has delivered more than 900 new energy vehicles, with thousands in Beijing, Guangzhou, Kunming, Jinan and Weifang. Futian Hybrid Euro V buses are put into public transport operations. In addition, Futian has also received orders for new energy buses from Taiwan, Guangzhou, Shandong, Zhejiang and Tianjin. The United States and Thailand also intend to cooperate with Futian on new energy bus procurement.

Pure electric fans at the end of the year

At present, Foton Motors has achieved breakthroughs in the main areas of new energy vehicles, batteries, electronic control development and other new energy sources. Futianou V pure electric buses have also been put into trial operation and will soon be put into production in small batches. The reporter learned last week that pure electric cars based on Didi will also formally go offline at the end of the year and become the first pure electric passenger car introduced by Foton.

It is reported that Foton Motor plans to realize production and sales of 70.37 million vehicles this year, of which new energy vehicles will reach 10,000, in addition to hybrid European V passenger cars, Foton Motors has been in the electric car version of products such as fans, Parker, Omar, etc. Or soon to market. Zhao Jingguang predicts that by 2015, Foton Motor’s new energy vehicles will account for about 15% of total production.
