Emerson Valve Controller Sales Breakthrough One Million Units

Emerson Process Management's FisherfieldVUE digital valve controller has sold more than one million units worldwide. The digital valve controller was first introduced in 1994. The product and its digital communication and diagnostic functions changed the process control plant's control of the control valve and facilitated the process plant's digital instrumentation. No matter which industry's process control plant, you can profit by using a digital valve controller; because it can minimize or eliminate variables and maximize plant uptime. By testing valves and providing pre-maintenance information, FIELDVUE meters can achieve these two goals on a market-leading, accurate basis.

Danie Nelson, vice president of the Fisher Instruments Division, is responsible for the new FIELDVUE instrument design. In the mid-1990s, he was a mechanical test engineer. "Since the development of this product, we have taken 'Reliability and performance' as the value of Fisher's core product." Danny Nelson said, "Because FIELDVUE instrument is the first communication loop powered digital positioner, we A number of new tests have been done to determine the technical capabilities of this product. This was previously the case with valve mounted instrumentation products."

With the introduction of FIELDVUE meters, it not only won a number of industry awards, but also gained more than 50 patents in terms of its innovation and reliability. Since 1999, 100,000 FIELDVUEDVC5000 meters have achieved up to one million hours of operation in process plants.

Over the past ten years, under the efforts of the global R&D team, FIELDVUE instrument's enhanced functions and application conditions have gradually increased, such as from online diagnosis to remote remote installation. Stainless steel meters developed by Emerson personnel are suitable for use in harsh offshore conditions and have remote installation capabilities that can withstand temperatures up to 120°C (250°F).

FIELDVUE product marketing manager Ken Hell said: "We add more performance to the instrument, then the application will be more flexible, and customers will get more benefits." The new FIELDVUEDVC6000 series instrument has these enhanced features:

1) Good valve performance diagnostics allow factory shutdowns and maintenance intervals of 5 to 7 years. It has made tremendous improvements over the traditional 12 to 18 month shutdown maintenance interval.

2) The split-range test function ensures that the valve is closed and prepared in advance to provide users with more peace of mind. Split-range testing technology has obtained two patents and passed Exida, TUV (Germany) and SIL-3 certification.

3) The FIELDVUEDVC6000 instrument can be installed by means of "hot access", which facilitates the conversion of analog signals to digital signals without interrupting the production process.

FIELDVUE is part of Emerson's broad range of smart, digital field instruments. With PlantWeb's plant management architecture, it can improve plant efficiency by up to 2% through asset optimization, process automation, and management execution.
