Elburn receives new Alexis Squad

Alexis Fire Equipment has recently delivered a brand-new fire apparatus to the Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District. This state-of-the-art unit is now ready for service and represents a significant upgrade for the department. A full list of the unit’s specifications can be viewed HERE. The vehicle features a Spartan Gladiator Classic MFD cab with a 10-inch raised roof, offering enhanced visibility and comfort for the crew. Squad 301 is equipped with a 20-foot walk-around body that includes roll-up doors for easy access to equipment and storage. Additionally, the unit boasts a Wil-Burt light tower mounted on top of the body, providing powerful lighting for nighttime operations. This new apparatus will replace an older unit that has served the district since 1990/1985 — a Ford/McCoy Miller MDR that has been in service for over three decades. The transition to this modern vehicle ensures improved performance, safety, and efficiency for the firefighters of Elburn and Countryside. The new unit is designed with modern firefighting needs in mind, featuring advanced technology, improved ergonomics, and a more efficient layout. It will provide the team with the tools they need to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in their community.
