Dongfeng Xiaokang Qingyuan Base put into operation during the year

The reporter learned yesterday that Dongfeng will have a big move on the mini vehicle this year.

The sales ranking best describes the importance of minicars. SAIC and Changan have annual sales of micro-vehicles in excess of one million units, mini-vehicle sales accounted for 38% of SAIC's total sales, Chang'an up to 50%, and Dongfeng Group only 10%. In the “Regulations for the Adjustment and Revitalization of the Automobile Industry”, it is proposed not only to train two or three large-scale automobile groups with production and sales volume of more than 2 million vehicles, but also to explicitly propose that the market share of self-owned brand passenger vehicles in China should exceed 40%. Obviously, choosing a mini-car is the best "shortcut" to boost sales of self-owned brands.

Dongfeng shares recently announced high-profile plans to enter the mini-car. Based on the original mini-trucks and buses, it will launch a new micro-car brand, Jun Feng. The strategic goal of the mini vehicle business is to achieve a production and sales volume that exceeds 200,000 units in 2014, and the market share of domestic mini-vehicles will exceed 5%.

Dongfeng’s other micro-vehicles are actively expanding their layout. Recently, the Dongfeng Xiaokang Micro-Vehicle Project has officially signed an agreement to settle in Foshan (Qingyuan) Industrial Transfer Park in Qingyuan. It is reported that the total investment of the Dongfeng Xiaokang Qingyuan mini vehicle production base is 1 billion yuan, and the first phase will be put into production by December 31, 2010.
