A few days ago, Audi released sales data for May. In May 2015, its global delivery volume was 153,850 units. In May last year, it sold 152,004 units, a slight increase of 1.2% year-on-year.
Audi said that the reason for the slowdown in sales growth is mainly due to the decline in sales in the largest single market in China, while the Audi Q7 and Audi A4 will usher in a change in models, and the demand for existing models will weaken before the new model is officially launched. Among Audi's models, Audi TT's global sales in May surged 96.6% year-on-year, nearly doubling.
From January to May, Audi's global sales totaled 744,900 units, compared with 713,898 units in the same period last year, up 4.3% year-on-year.
In May, Audi delivered 47,410 units to the Chinese market (including Hong Kong), and in May 2014, it sold 48,174 units, down 1.6% year-on-year. From January to May, the cumulative sales volume was 226,022 units, compared with 217,910 units in the same period last year, an increase of 3.7% year-on-year.
In terms of delivering sales in China, the Audi brand has experienced its first decline since February 2013, with 26 consecutive months of growth disruption.
